ILMS MISSION
The Indiana Lakes Management Society promotes the understanding and comprehensive management of Indiana lakes and reservoirs and their watershed ecosystems. ILMS provides a forum and technical assistance network for information sharing; assists with development of lake restoration and protection programs, policies, and legislation; and encourages local and statewide organization cooperation.

PUBLIC FRESHWATER LAKE LISTING APPROVED BY NRC
A new non-rule policy establishing a listing of public freshwater lakes in Indiana under the authority of the Lakes Preservation Act (IC 14-26) was approved by the Natural Resouces Commission on November 17, 2009. This policy will be published in the Indiana Register and posted to the NRC's website within the next few weeks. Read More

COURT ISSUES OPINION ON PROPERTY DISPUTE AT TIPPECANOE
For the second time in less than two years, the Indiana Court of Appeals has issued an opinion involving a property dispute on the south shore of Lake Tippecanoe.
The most recent appeal originated when Kosciusko County Circuit Court Judge Rex L. Reed ruled that Daisy Farm Limited Partnership, owner of a lot in Cripplegate Heights, did not acquire title by adverse possession of a triangular-shaped parcel that had been deeded to Michael and Jill Morrolf, owners of an adjoining lot. COURT RULES LAKE RESIDENTS CANNOT BLOCK EASEMENT
The Indiana Court of Appeals, in an opinion published on September 23, affirmed a decision by the Whitley County Superior Court that lot owners bordering a 40-foot wide easement along the shore of Blue Lake cannot block other residents from driving vehicles or lawnmowers on the easement or install poles, rocks, fences or other items that create obstacles for vehicle access.Read More
